However, they should have retroactively added that profile to P元. There was no nefarious intent on their part. I believe those two events coinciding was the reason it took a while to acquire a copy of the R5 and create a profile for it. They were preparing the final release candidate version for testing at the beginning of September in anticipation for release to the public in mid-October. The beta testing phase for PL4 was just ending. The reason they didn't support it before the release of PL4 is because of the timing of that camera's release. I'm not making excuses for DXO, they should have supported that camera for P元. You were not the only one frustrated by lack of support for the R5 in PhotoLab 3. I just don't like their business practices. It wasn't the money as much as the principle. I contacted DXO and they told me too bad. I finally decided to do so and a week later the BF sales came out. A few years I kept getting email after email to upgrade to a newer version. The timing was just too convenient IMO.ĭXO has a version upgrade every Nov. I read the excuses about the time it takes to perfect a product like DXO but I wasn't sold. So about 3 months of not being able to use the software. DXO waited until November and if I wanted to use it I would have had to pay for PL4. Others released support in a timely manor as well. Adobe and C1 Pro released updates within 3 weeks to support the camera.
